“The Boards of Directors and staff of NALEO and the NALEO Educational Fund commemorate the ten year anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001. We continue to remember the victims and the brave public servants who lost their lives in the tragedy that shook our nation a decade ago. We continue to pray for all the wives, husbands, children and loved ones of each of these extraordinary people whose life was cut short.

Today, we also recognize the brave men and women who serve in the U.S. military whose personal passion and commitment to our democratic ideals have continued to ensure our nation’s safety and liberty for all Americans. They and their families have also paid a significant price that must not be forgotten. Today, we join all Americans in remembering the lives of the fallen victims and heroes of September 11, 2001 and commit to celebrating their legacy by continuing our work to ensure that our democracy remains strong and vibrant through the full participation of our communities.”
