HOUSTON – Today, The Texas Supreme Court ruled that the Houston City Council must repeal the Houston Equal Right Ordinance (HERO) or place it on the November ballot for a vote.

“As one of the fastest growing cities in America, Houston needs non-discrimination ordinances that protect all of its residents. I am concerned that the Texas Supreme Court’s ruling today will send the wrong message to those who would consider living in or doing business in Houston. Thankfully, I know the LGBT community and their allies will continue their efforts to ensure that all Houstonians are protected regardless of their race, age, gender, physical limitations or sexual orientation. To continue thriving in an ever-competitive global market, Houston needs HERO.
